3 steps to register for a course
1. Placement test
Students who wish to skip the beginner course are required to take a language assessment test (placement test). The results of the test are valid for two years. Those, who wish to skip ahead to a more advanced level without taking the courses in succession, are also required to take a placement test.
See the grey info box on the right for the upcoming placement test dates.
2. Registration
Students register for courses online. The registration period is indicated in the grey info box on the right. During this period, go to the course schedule table and click on the course in which you wish to enroll; this will take you to the registration form.
3. Payment of course fee
The registration process is completed with payment of the course fee. The dates during which you need to come to the language centre to pay the course fee are indicated in the grey info box on the right.
The course fee is 30€ (10€ per credit point). You will be reimbursed if you submit the language course credits in your grade report (Notenspiegel) in accordance with the regulations of your degree Programme (cf. Fee Reimbursment ). These courses are free of charge for exchange students of the Liszt School of Music (HfM). However, students of the Liszt School of Music (HfM) still need to come to the Language Centre during the two days of the Payment of Course fee period and sign their registration.
The course fees may only be paid by Thoska card.
Guest students
Guest students are charged € 60. Guests may only attend courses if there are free spaces available. Therefore, guests may only register between 4.30 pm and 5 pm on the second day of the payment period. The dates of the payment period are indicated in the grey info box on the right.
