In 2013, Mesa Counts on College is collaborating with the Mesa Public Schools and Mesa Community College to create a new and exciting educational opportunity for GED students.

The students in the GED to MCC class have experienced different challenges or setbacks that kept them from graduating from high school. Now, they’re making a comeback!

Classes provide a supportive pipeline to help students earn a GED diploma and begin college coursework at MCC.

Lezette Mack teaches three mornings a week at the Mesa Education Center, a Mesa Public Schools facility.

Students work together and encourage each other.

The GED to MCC program is providing the instruction, support and motivation to help students make progress. Each student hopes to earn his or her GED certificate by May.

Mesa Counts on College, the Mesa Public Schools, and Mesa Community College all hope that the 2013 GED to MCC Program graduating class is the first of many!
